ROCK HALL — What a whirlwind of activity it has been for Kent County Public Schools staff and families as everyone headed back to school!
We've welcomed new teachers, held open houses for families and gotten students settled into their new classes.
We also offered a fond farewell to a pair of local children's book authors as they embark on a book tour across the country.
What a great start to the 2022-23 school year!
Welcome aboard to our teachers!
Kent County Public Schools newest teachers spent much of the third week of August at orientation at the Central Office. They did get out to enjoy some local flavor during the week, including trips to Get the Scoop in Rock Hall Village for ice cream that Tuesday afternoon and the Harbor Shack restaurant for a Thursday evening social.

Bon Voyage Matt and Robbi!
Local children's book authors Matthew Swanson and Robbi Behr are hitting the road on their cross-country Busload of Books tour.
This KCPS family of six, plus their dog, will spend the next year visiting Title I schools throughout the country to meet students and giveaway copies of their celebrated books.
Before leaving Chestertown Tuesday morning, Aug. 30, they paid a visit to H.H. Garnet Elementary School.
