Dr. Mary Boswell-McComas, superintendent of Kent County Public Schools, is holding a town hall on the proposed budget for next year at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 1 at the Kent County Public Schools Administrative Building in Rock Hall. There will also be a virtual option. Those who would like to attend virtually and participate in the discussion are asked to RSVP online at https://tinyurl.com/mr4d7ffz. Those who RSVP will be emailed a Google Meet link the day of the town hall. The meeting also will be livestreamed on the Kent County Public Schools YouTube channel. The Kent County Board of Education has five elected members, each serving four-year terms, and a student member from Kent County High School selected to serve for a one-year term. The Board of Education regularly meets on the second Monday of the month at the Kent County Public Schools Central Office, 5608 Boundary Ave., Rock Hall.




Meeting Information

The Kent County Board of Education is holding a retreat on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. The meeting is open to the public, but will not be livestreamed.

The next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with open session. Open session will be immediately followed by the Board members going into closed session. The open session will resume at 6:30 p.m. 

The Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the fiscal year 2026 budget on Monday, April 28 at 6 p.m.

All meetings will be located at the Kent County Public Schools Administrative Building in the Board Room, 5608 Boundary Ave., Rock Hall.

Ethics Panel and Policy

The Ethics Panel is charged with receiving and maintaining documents such as financial disclosure forms, providing advisory opinions and reviewing alleged ethics violations.
 
Three members comprise the Ethics Panel in accordance with Kent County Board of Education policy.
 
Members must be residents of Kent County. Membership restrictions include current Board of Education members and school officials, employees and their spouses.
 
Appointments to the Ethics Panel are confirmed by the Board of Education.
 
Ethics Panel members are appointed to three-year terms. Members are eligible for reappointment.
