Community listening sessions next month for KCMS project

Run for Character benefits RHES

As part of Rock Hall's annual FallFest, families are encouraged to sign up for Run for Character 5K Run/Walk, set for 9 a.m. Saturday morning, Oct. 8. Proceeds benefit Character Counts Kent County and the Rock Hall Elementary School Arts Program.

Updated 2022-23 school calendar

The Kent County Board of Education approved updates to this year's school calendar Monday, Sept. 12 to incorporate a Virtual Day Learning Plan. Follow the link below to learn more about the changes and download an updated calendar.

KCHS Hall of Fame induction ceremony

The Kent County High School Hall of Fame Committee is up and running again and poised to induct its first class since 2012. Make your reservation now for this year's induction ceremony, to be held Saturday, Oct. 22.

Make a nomination for the Golden Anchor

The Golden Anchor Award is presented every month to an employee or group of employees who exemplify the vision and mission of Kent County Public Schools. Nominations may be made by parents, staff members and students.

KCPS Reopening Plan

Kent County Public Schools is devoted to staying firmly anchored in excellence. We remain deeply committed to ensuring that every child receives a quality education that promotes equity, a rigorous and engaging curriculum, and offers a safe and nurturing learning environment. Careful consideration has been taken in developing the reopening plan for our district. The instructional models will depend on which Phase of Reopening is permitted. Each model has been thoroughly reviewed and has included input from stakeholder groups and then reviewed by taskforce groups to ensure the following:

Promoting the safety, welfare, and health of students, employees, and families.
Mitigate educational inequities by creating structures and supports that respond to challenges faced by various populations as informed by data
Providing high-quality teaching and learning to all students.
Prioritizing the social-emotional well-being of students and staff.
