Kent County Public Schools value your input! Please help us improve our learning environment by completing the the KCPS Climate Survey. This survey is administered twice a year to staff, students, and parents to acquire their overall feelings about the school culture.  Our school improvement teams analyze the survey data and then make any necessary adjustments in order to improve the learning environment.  Thank you for your participation.

We have turtles! Mr. Tracy Hodge is again the proud recipient of two Poplar Island Diamondback Terrapin hatchlings. The hatchlings are enjoying their new home in his classroom and are excited to be cared for by the Galena Elementary students.

Over the last couple years, we have had great fun in naming the turtles, watching them grow and then releasing them into the wild. Keep a lookout for updates on their progress! If you happen to be in Mr. Hodge’s classroom, be sure to also take a peek at the growing number of fish in the classroom fish tank!
