Congratulations on Kent County High School having certified as a Maryland Green School.

April 20, 2016

Congratulations on Kent County High School having certified as a Maryland Green School.

It is our mission to equip every student to achieve success in a diverse global community. KCHS offers a wide variety of challenging and successful curricular opportunities, athletic programs, and performing arts with various clubs and activities.

Our staff believes that high school should be the experience of a lifetime. In many cases the high school experience sets the stage for successes later in life and provides a lifetime of positive memories for our students. We strongly encourage your child to become involved and engaged outside of the classroom. It will enhance their high school experience.

Kent County High School is proud of our continual goal of providing an excellent education for our students. We have a dynamic, hardworking faculty who are involved in education to benefit your child. We offer honors and Advance Placement courses, dual enrollment opportunities with both Chesapeake College and Washington College. Because KCHS is a comprehensive high school, we also offer career and technology programs in the following areas: Teacher Academy of Maryland, NATEF Automotive Technology, NCCER Construction Technology, ProStart Culinary Arts, CNA and GNA Health Professions, Project Lead the Way Pre-Engineering, CASE Agricultural Science, EMT and Fire Science, and FM Broadcasting (90.5FM). For students needing more academic support, our core academic courses are co-taught with a special educator and a general educator.

We are proud of our record and of our success in helping students achieve their dreams once they leave school. The self reported statistics for the Class of 2015 are as follows:

 • 161 Graduates
 • 78% enrolled in either a 4 year university, community college, or technical school
 • 2% military
 • 21% workforce
 • $10,168,380 scholarship dollars offered

KCHS is proud of its commitment to technology with one-to-one laptops for all freshmen and sophomores. The plan is to expand to all students within the next two years. We have a partnership with Discovery Education and are diligently working toward using technology as a tool to enhance and differentiate our instruction. We are constantly striving to stay on the cutting edge of technology providing a more efficient building, increased communication, and most importantly, preparing our students for the fast-paced world they will face.

We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and school.

We encourage you to visit the school to see for yourself why our teachers, parents, and students make Kent County High School a great place to learn and grow. Please feel free to contact me at 410-778-4540.
