ROCK HALL — The school year will end just shy of a week earlier in June thanks to a change in the calendar unanimously approved by the Kent County Board of Education.
As agreed upon at a board meeting held Wednesday, April 5, the last day of instruction for Kent County Public Schools is now Friday, June 9.
Thursday, June 8 will be a half day for Kent County Middle School and Kent County High School. Friday, June 9 will be a half day for all schools.
Also, as approved by the board, Monday, June 12 will be the last contract day for all 10-month school system employees.
The calendar change reflects that Kent County Public Schools has not used any inclement weather days during the 2022-23 academic year.
Students were originally scheduled to have their last day of school on Thursday, June 15.
