ROCK HALL — As part of Rock Hall's annual FallFest, families are encouraged to sign up for Run for Character 5K Run/Walk.

Set for 9 a.m. Saturday morning, Oct. 8, the Run for Character 5K will begin at Waterman's Crab House in Rock Hall. A free Kiddie K Run for children 10 and under will begin at 8:45 a.m.

Registration for the 5K costs $25 until Oct. 1. It is $30 after and on race day. Registered participants will receive a "Run for Character" shirt.

Sign up as a team of five participants and each member will receive $5 off the cost of their registration.

Participants who cannot attend the 5K race day to compete live are welcome to complete a "virtual run" by submitting their time to Race Director Peg McHugh at [email protected].

A portion of the proceeds from the Run for Character will benefit Character Counts Kent County, a non-profit organization that encourages strong ethical values through the six pillars of character, and the Rock Hall Elementary School Arts Program.

Awards will go to overall male and female winners and master winners, the top three male and female winners in five age groups and the top five male and female walk finishers. The ceremony will be held immediately after the last participant finishes the race.

For more information or to register, visit runsignup.com/RunforCharacter.
