All KCPS technology projects are aligned to the mission and core values and our 2015-2018 Strategic Technology Plan.
 
Below are current and future projects for this school year:
 
2016-2017 Projects
 
- expand use of Clever as a single sign-on portal for KCPS applications
- upgrade wifi in existing buildings
- deploy Microsoft Office 2016 for staff and students
- deploy ActivTables to PreK classrooms in Title 1 schools 
- issue iPad Air2's to 1st Grade
- use new mobile app to expand communication to the school community
- implement new alert system (Bright Arrow) 
- migrate websites to new CMS platform (Eschoolview)
- streamline app distribution
- maintain 1:1 in grades K-12
- send staff to Apple Academy to provide additional staff and student training 
- upgrade staff and students to OS 10.12 (Sierra)
- continue year 3 of Discovery (DDLC) and select candidates for next 3 year cohort
- expand use of Naviance for students in grades 9-12

Resources for Parent and Student - Online Safety 


The school system is required by CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act) to filter its internet.  This filter allows for varied levels of filtering based on Google logins.  This provides dynamic filtering of students and staff.
